I'm throwing down on the general Bob Costification of our society for cowering in fear of ridiculously far-reaching Sharptonesque accusations of these "connotations" and the inevitable shakedown that follows. Srsly, how can anyone with even a low-functioning brain go from a car with fur and a tail to a racial slur? And where did the suggestion of a minstrel show come from? That's a perfect example of the Bob Costification of which I have grown so sick! FWIW, I've seen a lot of raccoons in my time, and none of them jumped down, turned around, or picked a bale of cotton for me. And since you've already typed the word Lincoon once, you're obviously a racist so why not just roll with it? (<--- that was me being funny)

And a sister car to the Menstrual Show could have a Red Wings theme, but the association might be too subtle for some people.

That looks wicked as is, almost a shame to cover it up with a theme.

Did you ever see the movie "The Car"? I think that was based on a Lincoln. Probably wouldn't cost too much to whip up some paper-mache body parts. Frankly, if the production company put more than $500 into the movie car, I'd be real surprised.

I would rather focus on making the car reliable and test and sort it, than putting a lot of time and effort into a silly theme. Maybe I am a real racer at heart.

I drove it Friday. it shifts, has decent brakes and even still has the tilt wheel and power steering. Needs some tuning, as it is slow as crap. Hope that is all it needs. I guess we don't have budget for five speed and four barrel conversion, but it would be nice. I have a cast iron four barrel manifold.

Luckily, you don't have to. You have access to a board of misfits and miscreants who daydream all day long and can do that for you.

FWIW I thought the Menstrul and Lincoon were freaking hysterical. You could also use that muffler tubing, make a set of Excalubur style exhuast pipes down the side and dress like pimps.

The trans will go kaflooie. Trust me, it will. Don't get into a endless swap cycle with more slushboxes, do the 5 speed when it blows and call it done.

Just put a real cage in it, OK? I know the LeMons group does a good job at picking tracks twisty enough to keep the speeds down, but every time I see that pic of the cage, the hair on the back of my neck stands up.

Oh, don't worry. There is no way we're keeping any part of that cage. At this point, we think a Mustang cage would fit well, anybody put a cage in a Mark VII before?

Despite years of enticement and offers they still haven't manned up to the BABE rally yet ;) I figgure if enticement wont work I need to resort to smack talk. Guess roundy round on a track is ok for them but testing their skills on 1500 miles of public highway while dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz just pushes beyond their limits ;)

A mustang cage fit fine in my LeMons T bird.

We were mainly just wondering how close of a fit it was, we're planning on having to modify it at least a little.

As far as a 5 speed being out of the budget, why do you really have to have a 5 speed? For crapcan racing, a 3 speed is just fine. We got everything from the back of the crank to the diff (flywheel, pressure plate, tranny, shifter and driveshaft) from a 1968 Cougar for $200.00. The Thunderterd was not reliable but it was damn sure fast.

I see no reason you couldn't run in the challenge. Just don't give yourself a score. I wanna see what the GRM team could build themselves. I want to see if you guys can beat the rest of the teams that show up. I mean really, you guys don't have equipment available to you that a good deal of other teams have at their disposal.
