This may be a good alternative- get a motor from any 2.0l FWD turbo, and run with this- https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6017-20T
I've also thought of just putting a turbo onto a Duratec engine would be fun. And I can't recall the piston swapping- there's a combination of production parts between the 2.0 and 2.3 that will net you a 2.0l turbo with low enough compression for boost. We made a turbo Mondeo 15 years ago doing that- it was a blast.

The Ecoboost is an impressive engine , but I find the weight surprisingly high.
I ~Might~ possible have a pedal assembly for you.... Let me check the one hanging from the rafters in the garage when I get home.....

Going against the grain here, but I say wheeler dealer it. Make it look as good as you can as cheaply as you can and get a stack of bills. That car is decent and could bring you some money for the triumph. Or something manual that you actually want.
The triumph actually migrated to my garage. The xR4ti is one of those cars that isn't flashy but really stands out from the cars around it. I'd do what you can on the cheap to make it a driver then after driving it for awhile flip it.
Arghhhh.....
BEFORE you begin pulling the trigger on the pedals... and the unobtainuim cluster.... how many projects do you have? Would you give up one, or more for this? If this fits one of theose irrational, but I need it things, can you part with something else??
As you said... the interior is in fair to good shape (especially for its age) would it be worth a detailing, and selling it promoting its daily capability?
In recent years, I've tried to focus my car desires... not dilute them
Currently I have the fiat as my slow project. E28 is the daily. Falcon is only around because I haven't sold it yet.
The E28 is a great daily but lacks a uniqueness or level of quirk to keep me really interested in it. I mean i like it, but if i were to replace it I would be ok with that.
First step is to get the XR running and then see what is next

8 grand geez
Yea, no kidding... and the ECM + body harness is another 2 grand on top of that!
Theres a member on this board that might want that for parts if you dont want it, not sure how to tag him to this thread though.
So sorry to get your hopes up only to have them crashed with this post. I just returned from the garage, no pedal assembly hanging there anymore. After moving the ladder to several locations in the garage to get different perspectives of the contents above, I remember that I gave the assembly to the guy who bought the engine and T-5 tranny I sold him last year. I did find the following Merkur items though: brake master and booster, complete steering column with key, column surround plastic, engine mounts, and what I believe is a transmission crossmember for these as well.
No problemo. If merkurdepots website is up to date they have one for what seems to be a decent price
