I almost sorta like the WRX STi next to it, even though I've never really wanted a Subaru. (I had a FWD version right after high school, before they went all-in on AWD)

Interesting fit on that windshield.
Appears to have riveted sheet metal (aluminum hopefully) bodywork. note the absence of compound curves. What it is is a VW......

Weird they think it's a Bus, which were unibody. Not sure what a 102 van engine is.
No idea but it could look good with a reworked rear end (maybe just un-rivet the bumper and add a diffuser) and a completely different headlight setup.
the cowl the dashboard is in looks familier.

$5500 is extremely optimistic for a non-running, home built car.

I contacted the seller asking for more photos or at least what the stickers say, but no reply. It saying somthing like "Keller Racing" on the back.

No worries. The wing on the back lifts the rear of the car at speed so that they point down the road correctly.

Obviously this is like that "Jeep" that was running a while back where it was something built the limit of the rules with a body draped over a Lotus 7 chassis (or similar).
Look at the MGB project here to see how far you can go within the rules to make something look enough like the original car to be legal with very little underneath that is actually valid for street driving.
Essentially it's "street legal" enough to make it legal for classes other Mod, which is where it really belongs. If it does get driven on the street, it's more than likely only to events and back, no further.
Granted, this is no where near as well built as the "Jeep" or "MGB" but like a Manx buggy it would probably be plenty of fun with sticky rubber and a nasty ACVW rattling away in the back.
