Leaving this morning for Columbus, OH to compete in Hot Rod's Drag Week. I will be in the black Shadow (minus the flames) that had been to the challenge in '08,'09, '13 and as a $1000 car in '15. Spent the last few months "de-GRM'ing" it to prep for drag week. Ran out of time, so I didn't get any track or high boost testing, so I'm curious to see how this all works out. :-)
If anyone is in the area or plans on heading to any of the tracks to spectate, stop by and say hello. I'm running in the Street Machine Eliminator class which usually runs around 10am but this can be earlier or later. Assuming I make a clean pass, will probably use the “one and done” strategy to get as much time time to drive to the next track as possible.
Here's the schedule:
11 (Sun) – Tech At National Trail Raceway
12 (Mon) – Day 1 – National Trail Raceway, east of Columbus, OH
13 (Tue) – Day 2 – Summit Motorsports Park, Norwalk, OH
14 (Wed) – Day 3 – 131 Dragway, near of Kalamazoo
15 (Thu) – Day 4 – Lucas Motorsports park - Indy
16 (Fri) – Day 5 – National Trail Raceway, east of Columbus, OH
Hope to see some of you along the way.
Thanks,
Pat
I'm off Thursday so I'll hopefully see you guys in Indy.
I live about 15 minutes north of Norwalk. I'm not sure if I can get away for the morning, Tuesday.
When do you roll into town? If the night before I can give you some local knowledge on things like hotels and restaurants or more.
Jwelsh02...yahoo...
Columbus to Norwalk is only about a two hour drive.
Norwalk to Kzoo is about 3 hours.
Kzoo to Indy is about 3.5
Indy to Columbus is about 2.5
The drive stretches don't seem so bad. Easy interstate routes the whole way.

Sweet. Yes, roll in sometime the night before
They give is a pre set route we have to follow, which means likelihood of a straight interstate route is zero. Usually ends up 1000+ miles total run with neat scenery/places to see. It's a blast.
Driving a turbo, you may find it helpful to know these guys are 10 minutes east of Norwalk.

DSM/Evo guys but could still be helpful.
Oh, preset routes...
What is the basic To Norwalk Route and what is the basic From Norwalk Route?
I'll recommend something interesting along the way for lunch.
Look for Elvis in the 62 Chrysler 300....
I'll be following along virtually. I've only made two drag passes in my life and drag week is on my bucket list. Bunch of gear heads doing looney stuff. I love it.

I don't get the route for the drive till I run in my time slip from the prior. I'll definitely post/email the route once I get it. Appreciate the help! Hopefully will get to see you out there.
