He definitely said "most".

And not that I'm taking sides, I'm not but I still think the car is ugly, but I can tell you that the last Porsche club meeting I saw a 959 at (mentioned above), all the P-car guys were talking about the rarity as opposed to the looks. Food for thought I guess, although I'm sure some people love the 959.

I would love to have one... to sell and buy some other Porsches with.

I fully understand the reputation of the 959. But regardless, it's a matter of opinion, not fact. And he did not say "most" in his original reply. But it makes no difference to me if somebody wants to insist that because they feel a certain way it must be fact. It doesn't make them look good, but whatever.

Au Contraire, it looks awesome, I've loved it since the day it was launched. Way better looking than the contemparary F40.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. You are treading in treacherous waters there. Some people around here will jump on you like Hyenas on a wounded animal for that.

Um, you know I was being sarcastic, right?
But I too would have to defend the F40 in this case. While I don't think the 959 is ugly, it's far from my favorite porsche. And while the F40 isn't my favorite Ferrari, I do like it... more than the 959.

Sorry, never liked the F40 except when racing. Now the 288 GTO, the one that bitch slapped Porsche into making the 959, now that's a different matter.

I have always thought the 959s were very cool looking Porsches.

And I like the F40 too. I like it better than the F50.

Here is what I see. The case with the Ferrari F40 vs Porsche 959 has continued to today, but the roles have reversed.

The 959 was, at the time or may still be, the most technological car that ever rolled off a factory floor. The F40 was completely opposite. Two massive turbos, 3 pedals and a stick for some gears.

Now, you will see the case that Porsche is more of a purest car, where it's you, with 3 pedals and a stick with some gears, whereas Ferrari is now completely overloaded with 'puters.

To me, I really don't care. Yea, I'd kill to have a 997 GT3 RS 4.0 for a weekend. Then there are the days that I say "hell yea! 458 all the way!" Yea, Ferrari should throw the option in for a manual, but I think they have done their research and figured out that there isn't a market for them. Don't yell at me about it, I don't care.

May still be? I don't think it holds a candle to an Evo X or R35 GTR.

I would rock this Porsche-inspired Beetle--especially since: A. It is so easy to replicate, and 2. It's really just a sleeper GTI.

I dig it. Honestly, I thought the car was H.A.W.T. when launched, and there were only 1-3 in the US (rumored one was Leno's). I'd rave to my friends about all the technology and the unobtainium that car was built from, and I'd have to whip out an old R&T to show them that it existed. The problem for me is, Porsche made their cars more and more sleek, and the design just looks hecka dated. It did not age well at all to my eyes, and certainly not as well as the classic 911s.

Eh, not like I can afford any of them, so that probably just makes me a hater.

WOW ! I like that.

LOVE to pull that kit and adapt it to a Karmann Ghia Coupe. That would really cause some head scratching . . . is that body kit still available any place?

You are wrong.

The F40 is sex on wheels and the 959 looks like a smashed Beetle.

Honestly, I'm not a huge fan of the 959 styling. But the F40 looks like it was designed by a fifth grader. And...not an Italian fifth grader.

wow.. lots of opinions here.. and I agree with one.. the 959 looks very dated compared to it's contemporaries. For some reason, the F40, Lancia Delta, Audi Quattro and the whole host of other B cars have remained more modern looking than the more advanced 959
