No but I need a maid, my last one moved out of state and the house is a mess.
So wife gave the go ahead on the car, provided I put a lighter clutch if I can. Plus I get the aftermarket traction control module if it is cost effective so she can drive it.
Sent the bank the VIN, going to finance it for 12 months. That way they will do the paperwork plus they check the title and will take the risk on not getting the title from the seller or the DMV.
I need to think about doing the gen IV oil pan if I track the car or do any sort of motorsports.
Still waiting on some much better pictures to confirm condition but no red flags so far.
I admit that the Tim Taylor part of me has always wanted a Viper --- "MORE POWER ar ar ar!"
Ought to be fun, and at a fraction of the price of some of the cars we were talking about. Congrats; I hope it works out!
So driving up today to do a in person inspection and drop a deposit on the car. If everything works out it should be here around Sunday morning if the shipper can pick it up like he said he would.

Me too, the last four big dollar cars I have tried to by have not been as advertized. At least this one is close enough that I can do the inspection and not have to pay for the PPI.

All of the cars you have mentioned are great but the only one I get weak in the knees for is the Aston. They have the looks, the sound and I would do bad things for one.

Didn't get a chance to read the entire thread, so I apologize if I missed something. You have experience with Viper ownership, so you know what it's all about.
I had a '99 GTS. All black, no stripes, chrome rims and blacked out windows. Wicked sexy car. Of all the fancy/wild cars I've had, this one drew the most attention, cell phone pics, etc... But I just found it "meh" to drive. It was certainly fast, deceptively so. I'd nail it, think I was doing 50 only to find out I was doing 85!. It cruised fantastic on a billiard table smooth highway, something like 1300rpm at 80mph. That's about where my praise stops. The driving position was silly, I could never get really comfortable. The pedal/steering wheel relationship was never right, even after endless fiddling with the adjustments. It got hot inside, and as you said could melt a garage floor. That actually didn't bother me a ton, but it was certainly noticable. The clutch was needlessly heavy. What bugged me most about it though was it would incessantly tramline. Every single rut in the road would make it want to wander left or right...and there was nothing wrong with the car, I had it checked. A rough highway road, like we have here in PA, was a white knuckle ride. It was even worse if the road was crowned badly.
All that said, for some inexplicable reason I find myself lusting after another one. So I understand the irresistable force calling you... 
Ford GT
So much car and can be serviced by your local guy.
Lambo owner who has several others including the GT says the Ford is the best to drive and gets more attention.
I would love a GT, maybe some day

The Gen 3/4 Cars are so much better then my older Gen II car in terms of livability. I put 12K miles on my last gen three in a year and it was very comfortable.
If I had the space though I would go after another early GTS in red with white stripes and just keep it in the garage.
My one complaint with the GT is that two of the guys I work with daily already have them. I have driven one of them and its interesting. Lower then you would expect, people go bat E36 M3 crazy when they see them due to the rarity. Plus finding a good clean one for under 150K is going to be a little tough for me to do. Metric tons of fun to drive though.

If you like the Viper, go for it. If it were me, I'd hold out for the GT. Since for you it's (uh) common, I'd be looking at Italian horses...
But that's just me.
5 hours in the car and......
I own another viper. 
Put a monster of a deposit down. Rest of the cash goes into his account tomorrow if I can kick my bank into gear. Should get picked up on Friday in the morning by my shipping guys, might be next week on Monday as they are racing this weekend.
Had some extra cool stuff on it.
ACR-X "vipar" body kit, New Clutch, Corsa Exhaust, new tires on 5 spoke wheels. New brakes, aftermarket swaybars, K&N full kit, aftermarket stereo with much better speakers, short shift kit, upgraded AC system. Motor has 10K miles on it with only two track days, go-pro mounts, body and paint are perfect.
The bad. Small easy to fix crack in the windshield. Front left tire is a little chewed up from a Seca track day with the viper club. (They installed the street tires after the slicks picked up a puncture for the last couple laps) Some of the body panels need just a tweak to make them perfect.
NEEDS Seat lowering kit, new rear hatch struts, return springs on the shifter.
On a side note I looked at a old beck 550 spyder as a alternative to building another hot rod.

Nice, glad to hear it worked out.
So what do we think of this hood as most of the mods that I would do are already done. Deep down I would love to get a set of the white/black 19'' OZ wheels off the challenge vipers but that is going to take some digging.
Doubt I could get the stripes to look right though they changed them for this hood quite a bit.

I don't know, I think that nose needs a few more horizontal pointy flat things on it. You should take it back!

In the continuing saga of where the heck is my bloody car. When getting its smog check today the techs found a very small leak near the rear diff.
So they started pulling covers and panels off to fix it and found that the car has a full Unitrax LSD upgrade, 7/16 bolts and cryo'd, and 800hp Unitrex axles which I had no clue were there. Owner had forgotten it had been upgraded. New seal and it if fixed. He thinks the drive-shaft was upgraded as well.
3600$ for the diff and about 2000$ for the axles. At this point every time I have someone look at the thing something new poops out.
Leak is now fixed car is now smogged, but the shop does not open until Monday and closed today early so I could not get up to Irvine and pick the darn thing up.
Still no car yet and that makes me very very grumpy.
$3600 diff and $2000 axles.... that the owner forgot about....

I daily drive a metallic gold hot rod, subtle is not really in my vocabulary.
Trucks all packed up for tomorrow, hopefully everything should be done around 2:00 in afternoon traffic and I can avoid LA/5 traffic. Going up with my FIL as copilot, he needs an adventure because he has not really gotten out of the house since retiring.
Shop found some other cool stuff on the car, once I get it back and on my lift I will confirm and post it up.
