I think I'd be critical of it if it was a DIY jobbie. But the fact that something so nuts actually came out of the factory, (albeit, in very limited numbers) makes me glad.

So you're saying that you expect more from a hack job nobody than you do a factory? Yeah, I guess I'm glad too. Glad that somebody was stupider than me to make something so mo fugly. Those flares look more like window awnings than something that should be put on a car.

I can only hope that their Kadett "conversion job" was half-complete when that picture was taken... like, next they're going to put in a bad-ass engine and some tires that actually fill out the flares (suspecting that nope, this is "it.")

It was apparently a factory styling exercise... And you have no idea how much it makes me want to get an early Chevette and start calling for Opel panels from across the world....

I did a Google Image Search for "box flares" 9 of the first 9 were from this post.

The pic below was a box flare from classicmotorsports.net. I don't know what they are on over on the classic side, do you guys?
