Is that chopped and sectioned? If it is, then those aren't really even flares...

It kind of looks that way. But I wouldn't say those aren't flares, as they clearly are relative to the body of the vehicle. But I can see where it's possible that the track width is stock and the body is narrowed. It's just hard to tell from the picture. It's definitely chopped.
Sorry for the crappy cell phone photo, but here's something I'm experimenting with on my latest TR6 project.
Basically I want something subtle that doesn't look like a bubble. Making a box flare using the existing accent line running down the car might do the trick. This is only 1.5 inches, but I'd prefer to make it not quite so subtle. Maybe something closer to 2.5 inches. The top will be sloped down about 20 degrees.
