I checked on the monroe website. Try to get a set of bilstiens for if if youi can find them, im pretty sure they sell them in england or australia. If you are looking to build a good handling car, try to stick with a 4 cylinder. A turbo impluse engine would be pretty cool if it would fit, and I think someone on here was making around 400hp with one.

Another interesting link http://www.geocities.com/zzzgeminiclubsa/

It looks like the engine that comes in the isuzu rodeo and amigo will fit also.

I saw somewhere that you at least in the past could get a bilstien motorsport rally suspension setup for them too.

Well I can get a 3100 and a T5 for $200 so thats pretty tempting. I would like to have an ecotec but thats a lot of money. Another possibility is just building my 1.6. the V6 actually help that handling is what I've heard from some but I need to talk to someone who actually has one. Thanks for all your help so far everybody.

AN isuzu 2.0 should be available for the same price as the GM v6engine, there are plenty of them in pick and pull where i live.

I need something with more aftermarket support.

I got a set of QA1 coilovers for my latest project, they appear to actually be Carerras. I did some online searching and got single adjustables without springs for $149 each. QA1 also has springs for ~$39 each so figure on around $800 a set if you decide to go this way.

They are available in a bunch of different lengths and there are interchangeable upper mounts. IIRC the shocks on your car will have a stud/nut arrangement at the top and a cross bar at the bottom, both available. It would not be a direct bolt in, figure on some fabrication.

You mentioned an engine with aftermarket support: how about an Ecotec? IIRC a Solstice bellhousing will adapt a Toyota Supra tranny for north/south orientation and there's all kinds of boneyard upgrades, like SAAB turbos (it was used in later SAABs). Lighter and smaller than the 60 degree V6 and capable of every bit as much power if not more.
