I was inspired by irish44j's thread about "The Answer" vehicles, and I decided to create a new one to get more of them. Post a vehicle, and what it is the answer to.
I believe the Fiero is the answer to "What is an affordable mid-engined car?" True, the MR2 is a better car, but for dirt-cheap MR thrills, the Fiero clinches it.
I want 500+ HP and a manual transmission, but my wife says "be practical, we have kids!"
Here's your answer:
you wanted the last generation Focus RS that was never sold stateside? You want the forthcoming Golf R sportwagon that isn't going to be sold stateside? You only have $10k in your account?
You need the V50 wagon with a 6spd manual, AWD and T5
A fun, manual transmission wagon (aka, unicorn)
A Jetta sportwagen is the best with the diesel engine.
In reply to Mr_Clutch42:
It's also the answer to "What Brown Manual Diesel Wagon can one actually buy in North America?"
So we're just making up questions that our personal vehicles answer?
Not that i'm against this, but with 18 vehicles i dont have the attention span to finish it in one sitting so i'm not going to start.

This is exactly what we're doing, and I'd LOVE to hear the questions that you've answered with your fleet.
I think the Ty/Sy brothers could be an answer to something if the prices came down and/or production was higher.
The Avalanche and Ridgeline should be the answers but fall short somehow.
I know the motorcycle of your choosing, a sunny day and winding roads (like rural NH) is the answer to a sucky day.

I want this!
Engaging search mode...
One part Miata, one part P71, one part xj and blend. What's not to like?
On a serious note my vote goes to the Forester XT for someone that wants a car that does everything well with just enough internet unreliability to keep things interesting.
I always thought that a Wrangler should be on the "answer" list. My personal taste would be one in dark green Sahara trim.
Yup...Wrangler...topless like a Miata...small and tossable...over rocks...and driven by hair dressers too
You want a European sedan. You want a newer car with under 50K miles. And you need to tow up to 3500lbs on occasion. You are a skinflint and don't want to spend more than $10K. You get this:
So if my fleet reads mini, corolla wagon, prism sedan, ms3, mx6, mx6, and volare, what the hell kinda questions was I asking?
Edit- and things currently on my short list- forester xt manual, Saab 9-7x aero, excursion v10 gas, gd 626 5 door, hachi roku, r31 skyline. Good luck Dr Freud.

That's debatable.
