Right now, we’re working to prepare our Mustang vintage racer for HSR’s Classic Daytona and Daytona Historics at Daytona International Speedway. What will it look like when all is said and done?
Well, we’re shooting for something like this:
Even if we don’t quite replicate this result, it’s still a fun video to watch.

Mother of god. Slays 911's, I said out loud "Cayman?" seconds before seeing the ferrari disappear. Skillz. Lots of steering wheel work to dirt track through some of those corners, and terrifying on the long banked "straights".
Those modern cars must be so boring to drive, left foot brake, pull a paddle and it shifts, ABS this Stability control that, whats the point when this thing goes flying by?
Looking at the still image on my phone, I wondered whose signature was on the dashboard.

Well, duhhh. Of course!

The cam and everything else about the engine is spot on.
Car's got some brakes to go with that motor. And it's obviously one heck of a motor.
Too bad it blew up (apparently)...

The gearing is perfect- he's using all 4 of those gears. Amazing dig out of the two "hairpins" and then the top speed is amazing.

Late-brake dunked on all those Caymans.

Holy E36 M3, I need to go change my shorts... Pretty sure he lapped the red 914, holy crap that thing is fast.
Was he downshifting into first going into turn one?
Cobra Automotive builds most of these fast Mustangs and has been helping us every step of the way. Still, I have never used first gear while racing. Wonder if an even more compelling video would be watching this thing get from the paddock to the grid, with gears that tall.
I usually find in car track videos kind of boring to watch. Not this one!
That is phenomenal. The driver is clutchless shifting at times as well; I assume the transmission has to be pretty perfectly set up to allow that kind of thing too. Every part of that seems well thought out.

Your sad devotion to that ancient religion something something.
Also? Tim's excitement for this project is on a 1:1 ratio with my apprehension. That video only increased, well, both.

In reply to Marjorie Suddard :
It's all fun and games when you're tooling around in some weird little furrin car with about 60 horsepower, but a big track with a strong motor changes things. I think of 5th gear in my V8 Miata as The Serious Gear. Slotting that means things are getting real.
In reply to Tim Suddard :
I want a ring tone of that car running up through the rears.

GOOD CATCH! First watch through of this I thought it was an integra.
That's a fun video--the old Ferd sounds happy! It seems that the 'Stang's driver is experiencing a bit more enthusiasm than everyone else . . .
^They're probably more concerned with letting him get around!
