Those AMC door handles were the reason when I was a wee little one back in the 70's that I hated AMCs. They used the same door handle on every model. I'm fairly sure I hated them when I was 5 or less.

Really, who knew? I thought that show ended years ago and was only ever on in ancient re-runs. I liked watching it (at least on DVR). I always thought they did good work even if the cars or styles weren't exactly my thing.
Exactly, all I ever see are reruns, I used to joke to my wife about how every car gets some kind of awful stripes slapped on it.

The show was gone, but was recently resurrected. I had my DVR recording new episodes years and years ago, and eventually that petered out a couple years ago. Then a couple months ago episodes started showing up again out of the blue.
It's on Velocity, and whatever other parent channel it is. They no longer do the silly "stolen car" prank stuff, thank goodness. New co-host Jesse knows how to weld and eat a sandwich (AJ just made my stomach churn). The show is a little less silly and the build cars have shown some variety. I'm glad it's back.

Looking on the site, it appears you can apply to have your car (or a loved one's car) "overhauled" but I'll be damned if I could find the info. I'm guessing they've already received a zillion applications and don't need any more.

I don't know when it happened, but it became fashionable to be proud of being closed minded and judgmental. Instead of simply saying "I wouldn't do that." Opinions became more important than anything else. And not able to be changed, no matter what the facts were or how rude/insulting that opinion was.

So, how about overplayed, overdone, or "tits on a boar hog" (AKA: worthless) instead?
Your argument for them has been weak, at best, in favor of them. It is still a subjective matter. Do I think donks, Jordans, or 13" Daytons sticking out a foot beyond the fender look good? Nope. Same for 99% of all shaved door handles. Now fitting in a flush late model handle, so it looks like it's shaved, is tits.

I didn't know she was the host now! She's raced in Lemons before, drove for Chris Overzet / Fabrication Required Transport.

She drove with Spank? Which car was this? I was at the 24 of WPB when he drove the Citroen from CA,l solo, and then raced it. Amazing talent.

That's the style that can easily slip out of your hand while opening a door. Had those on my Hornet. Me no likey. I Had this conversation with the wife a few times. She really liked the handles on her Legend, and back then very few cars had that style handle. It's the kind you grab and pull. Now just about everything has that kind of handle, and I think it's because it's the best overall. But I also like the old style handles, like dculberson pictured above and on my Mustang. Simple, and they work.

I do like the modern grab-and-pull style. The ones on my Mazda5 are very nice.
The Hornet used the small car AMC handle:
...which didn't work quite as well. The big car one is sized just right to open with two fingers. They do suck when they get all frozen up, but when they are oiled and work correctly they are very nice.
I don't like the thumb-button push ones to use, but they do look nice.
