The forthcoming P1 Motor Club will contain all the expected country club amenities–pool, spa and even pickleball–but the plan for this 650-acre facility doesn’t ignore nonmembers. In addition to the 4.5-mile P1 Circuit built for member use, the South Florida complex will also feature the Treasure Coast Circuit, a 3.2-mile track open to nonmembers.

“Think of Treasure Coast as everything …

If you go off the track on a corner, it will be a long fall down to the ground.  laugh  (yes I know the illustration is just to show elevation, but it was funny in my mind...)

So, it started pouring a few seconds after I snapped the photo of the sign. I drove to the location for the actual ceremony, and it’s raining cats and dogs.

When the rain paused for a minute, those involved ran out, turned some dirt, and ran back under the tent before the next wave of rain–which came a few seconds later.

Of course, by the time everything ended for the day, the weather had turned decent. Welcome to Florida.

Personally, I’m very excited about this project. Getting a new track two hours away is always a good thing, while I go back with the Straus family. In fact, they even had homemade cookies and treats at the groundbreaking. I grabbed a brownie. Yep, made by a mom.

There seems to be a lot of these "private motor clubs" opening up or in construction. Within a few hours of me, both Flat Rock in Tennesee and 10 Tenths in Charlotte are about to open up, I think both tracks are pretty much finished. I know Flat Rock is supposedly ultra-exclusive, we'll see if 10 Tenths is the same. It's nice to see at least one of these projects making room for the more Grassroots end of the spectrum.

Yeah, we're getting one right up the road from me, too. Sounds like it's members-only, unfortunately.

Yes, very happy to hear that all will be welcome.

I never considered myself the sort of person who would want to belong to a country club, but the idea of race track country club has certainly changed my mind.

It's not likely that I could afford a membership, but I like to dream.

Was there any details on how big the skid pad would be? Even if it is the size of say what Leadfoot City has at brooksville, it would be usable for an autocross.

I do recall the old PBIR did autocross on the kart track. I really wanted to do one of those when they held them b/c they were at night and I could leave mid day a from Tampa to make it and come home really late.

Here is the one out by Palm Springs ,

HOME | THE THERMAL CLUB

They had an Indycar race there  last weekend , that I did not even here about !

Its 130 miles east of Downtown LA

This is for the "BIG" buck guys  but at least this time of year its 80F-90F and not 110F-120F like in the summer ,

Is the Florida club going to have lights for night racing ?

Always cool seeing more tracks being built.

Too bad the country club stuff is far beyond anything I will ever be able to afford unless I win the lottery. Of course, I'd have to buy a ticket first to even have a chance so.....

I think these hybrid models of country club with part of the facilities rented to outside groups is the way to go.

Spring Mountain Motorsports is doing this and it seems like the best of both worlds.

As others have said nice to see a new track being built.

So how does the crossover work? A tunnel? Thought those were generally frowned upon in track design, since, you know, hitting walls at high speeds tends to be bad.

Agreed! Flatrock is supposedly going to offer more track time to the masses, but it has yet to happen. For me, it's a long drive to Atlanta (AMP or Road Atlanta) or Nashville Superspeedway. It would be nice to have something within an hour's drive.

Back to the topic, looking forward to hearing progress on P1 Motor Club.
