Yes but not completely. Leave a slight .01 protrusion and once you have the majority off use finer and finer grit. Ultimately it should be almost polished while retaining that slight protrusion. You don't want to leave any stress groves.
Looks like that's exactly what it's there for.
They say FoMoCo but they look like every Mahle piston I have worked on. Wonder what they have to say about it?
They do look awfully balance-pad like, don't they. I suppose adding 5g to the light piston somewhere is not an option (heavier wrist pin, dab of weld?)
