- I have indefinite loan of a power hacksaw that a friend's grandfather built. I would like to get some long-lived blades does anybody have a recommendation I am including a photo so you have a better idea of what I am dealing with
No advice, but I'm a bit curious about this contraption. Is is essentially a sawzall/reciprocating saw mounted on a bench?
I'm extremely low on battery right now but basically an electric motor drives a gear the drive the hacksaw blade back and forth next to a clamp that hold your peace and there's a tuna can full of lead at the end that puts force on the hacksaw blade it cuts really well

Not only do I want a video but i realize my life has been missing a power hacksaw. F250 then 6003 of the clan 904.
Neat, I could definitely use something like that, as I was hacksawing steel today and now my arm is sore lol.
I have a similar one I inherited from my grandfather. Mine's a bit different in that it uses a chain for the reciprocating motion rather than gears but also has a electric motor with a belt like this one. I'll get a pic tomorrow.
I use Lennox, Simonds or Roentgen blades in hacksaws and bandsaws.
The powered hacksaws use some different size blades than you can usually pick up at Lowes, I have found them on McMaster-Carr before.
