Before we turn our Fiesta into a hardcore race car, we're trying it out for a while in stock form to get a feel for it as a commuter.

Sounds a lot like the Mazda2 it shares a frame with.
I'd love to know where the extra 200lbs comes from. That and the extra cost is what got me in a 2 instead. I feel the same way about mine, I bought it telling myself that I could tear into it and not feel bad, but the more I drive it the less I want to muck about with it. These siblings are great little cars.
I too though about doing some mods on my Fiest, but after driving it for dayly duty for 18 months, I think I will leave it unmolested for now. Maybe some better tires when the time comes.
Looks like my sisters. I can tell you they take damage pretty well.
