Friendly reminder to always read the instructions. We were recently having a text chat with a friend who bought the same 530-horsepower LS3 crate engine from BluePrint Engines via Summit Racing and was getting ready to complete the install in a customer’s car.
“How much power did yours make?” he asked.
“No idea yet,” we replied. “We haven’t even got …
Over 400 ft lbs not far off idle... I personally have never experienced a piston engined power band of that magnitude. Now that I think about it I did in 22' Hallet Day cruiser with a supercharged 454 attached to a TH400 and a V drive. That was noisy fun. I would pay to passenger in a car as capable as this will reside in. And it will get decent gas mileage, and it will last (sans essentials disaster). GM pushrod motors are amazing feats of engineering and packaging.
I know that we're comparing engine dyno numbers vs. chassis dyno numbers, but I want to say that back in the day my 1.6L Miata--with a built head, bolt-ons and tuning--made like 115 horsepower at the wheels....

Which is why you put this engine in a Miata, obviously.
