I liked their looks fine.  For a few years they were reliably the college student car most likely to pass me on 101 doing 80+.  There are probably a few more still around than Vegas which would rust into nothing.  My buddy had one, the wagon, that you could get into using a coat hanger past the door rubber in ten seconds, it's too long of a story though.  And the gas tank fix wasn't hard to do I am told, or you could just put in a cell.  My roommate's Pinto, though, would die if the rain was too heavy, that was a bummer.

I don't remember much about it other than one was in a car/road & driver/track rag and I don't know if the above car is even one of them. smiley

A long time ago someone made an aerodynamic fiberglass long nose for the Pinto.

Wasn't that the "Pangra"?

You are right. smiley

The car featured in this article is Mike Streets' car, my Uncle, I actually run the last Pinto run by him, my Father Barry Streets, and Brother-in-law Dan Pellow. Mine is the car (#15 and later #12 and #42) of Barry Streets in SCCA ITB San Francisco Region. I can attest to the racing pedigree that Mike tuned this car off of.
