Already have a set of sm7 slicks from stampie. Unknow heat cycles, but still jave life in them.
Have the option to grab a full set of r6 with. 5 heat cycles.
Both sets are 205/50/15
Wheels are stock nb 15s, so 15x6ish
Which set would be faster?
Probably the SM7s. Newer compound, slightly better design. Mine stayed fast for a Looongg time. Much more tire than they had any right to be for take offs.
If you could find a set of 7.5-8" wheels that'd help a bit more. But you knew that already.

I think im going to grab the r6s anyway for spares since they're so cheap.
The newer less used ones. Either choice I'd try to hot lap at the challenge.
We were hot lapping my SM7s at the Challenge and they were getting hot enough for Alan to ask if I had brought a sprayer.
Sm7 is what's going to stay I ran out of time to get with the other set of tires yesterday
