2016 Rally of the Tall Pines

If you find yourself near Ontario in late November, come to Bancroft and take in the 2016 edition of the Rally of the Tall Pines. Tall Pines is the 6th event in the 7 event CARS National season.

ROTP is based out of Bancroft, ON, which is about 3 hrs from the Thousand Islands Border crossing at Alexandria, NY. In late November Bancroft can get a little chilly, so be prepared for the weather. For those looking for a more gentile experience, there is a VIP Program, that features transportation via heated motor coach, special VIP viewing areas and your guide will be either a rally driver or co-driver (who just happens to be a 4-time Canadian Champ). VIP Program Details

The entry list is currently at 25, however today is the last day of the reduced Early Entry fee, so normally entries will come up significantly through the day.

Great rally. I have been a few times, Bancroft is beautiful. If anyone here goes be sure to check out what a downtown is supposed to be like; businesses, and more businesses, and no Wal-Mart, and businesses and restaurants, and Hardware Stores, and other Hardware stores, and small independent fast food places even though there is a MC Donalds! I may be there this year. I have never heard of the VIP program before.

If you go to Bancroft, be sure to check out The Eagle's Nest.

BTW - while I wasn't watching - Travis Pastrana snuck on to the entry list last night!!! 30 cars and occasionally there are a few late entries.

Just over 2 weeks to go before I head down for my 16th year volunteering at Pines.

If anyone has any questions - fire away.

Lots of people, but they are already on the entry list ;) no additional entries. Crossing my fingers for a good battle.

As I noted earlier if anyone has any questions about:

  • Spectating
  • Volunteering
  • VIP Program
  • Anything else???

Let me know. I am parts of the Pines Committee (Safety Officer), so if I don't know the answer, I can likely find someone who can answer it.

We are short on volunteers and could use a hand.

Get this back up to the top. Looking like snow/ice conditions will be likely. Not a lot though.

I had one person reach out to me from here about volunteering. Even if you're not interested in that, many people can make this a day trip. The full rally happens on Saturday. Come out and watch!

I need to go back to the Tall Pines. The last time I was there was 32 years ago, I think. My then girl friend was impressed by the speed of the cars through the woods. Nowadays she just tells me to go enjoy myself for anything auto related.

Yes you should. They are even faster now!

There are a few people from Michigan that come up and volunteer most years.

You'll need to log in to post.
