I am seeking tires to rallycross my V8 S10 this year, what does the hive recommend

Since you have a truck and can fit larger tires I would try BFG A/Ts or something similar.

Real rally tires are best, but I have also run BFG A/Ts with some success: good on hardpack/dry, awful on mud/wet, traction on par with snows in terms of cornering, a little better under acceleration (on a low powered car). I am running Hankook M/Ts on the back of my (high powered) Mustang this year and rally tires up front- I can report back on their performance in a few weeks. I'm pretty sure anything with a V8 will just melt snows, so I wouldn't recommend going that route.

Mark Utecht and Mike Hurst used to rally Fox-body Mustangs and I think they used BFG A/T's and Nokian Off-road tires, as I recall.

I've also talked to the mustang guys and they claim about 95% of rally tire performance at 1/3 the cost for AT tires. My next rallyX car decision might be based solely around the cars ability to fit those tires.

While trying to select what car to prep over the winter, I spent a day in the junk yard taking a measuring tape to the wheel wells of every RWD sports car I could find... let me know if you need a list.
