Saw these for sale and im wondering what they originally came out of. They look like mk4 vw but don't have gti/gli on them.

They do look like Mk IV VW seats, but the ones I've seen had GLI/GTI embroidered into the upper insert panel and had a lever for fore/aft adjustment. These have a "towel bar" adjuster, so I'm not sure what they're from.
I think the Mk4 GTI Recaros also had "GTI" embroidered in red letters.
Checked Google images, these are almost certainly from a Saturn Ion Redline.
Who the hell says "hey Recaros!, these are worth saving" and then promptly stores them for years in the nearest pond.
I think DeadSkunk and Ethnic Food-Wrap Aficionado are right. They look a lot like the Recaros in the Saturn Ion Redline:

I'm fairly sure that all North American EVO seats had a fixed headrests.

Nope, these are Evo seats, different back/headrest design.
They are Ion Redline seats.
Thanks everyone, I knew someone on here would know. They look just like the ion redline ones to me.
Now the question is are they worth $150

Oh god no. Go back and take a close look at your original photo. You do not want your bottom touching those seats.
Is there a list somewhere of Recaro type seats with removable headrests that you might find in a junkyard ,?
Thanks for the info

The Ion Redline had all of the ingredients to make a great sports coupe. Strong, durable motor, factory supercharging, sporty stock suspension, good brakes, and convenient clamshell doors so you could make an argument for its practicality.
Then they gave it a terrible shifter that made it feel like you were operating the throttle on a steam engine and forgot to align the steering wheel to the centerline of the expensive Recaro seats. As a result it was awful to drive and everyone who wanted one bought a Cobalt SS instead.
