Discovered paint over spray on 1 of the headlights on my new to me car.

It has what appears to be clear plastic for the cover (?).   I have used Scotch Brite on glass, no noticeable scratching.   But clear plastic ?

A sharp razor blade might be worth a try.  Obviously you need to keep a low angle to avoid scratching or digging into the plastic.  Razor blades are also useful on glass.

I would think Scotch-Brite would scratch plastic.

Maybe try the 3M headlight polishing kit?

I've had luck with a clay bar on overspray on paint before.  Not sure how it would work on plastic but worth a try

I also used clay bar when I removed overspray from spray painting my home exterior railing on my Miata.

I haven't used a clay bar to remove overspray, but I am a fan of my clay bar.

FWIW, I now use the Griot's synthetic clay pad
