"La Quinta" in Spanish translates to "Adjacent the interstate and the Denny's"

Not to derail this too much, but lately I have been a big fan of La Quinta, especially the one in midtown Manhattan. Seriously--excellent location, free wifi and clean rooms. We have gotten some killer rates there, too. Getting back on topic, while choking down my Subway I did a quickie Daytona blog: http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/staff/David/daytona-doings/
I'll flesh it out this evening.
Oh, one more thing. Looks like our friends at Racing 4 Research came up a few bucks short of their goal: http://www.active.com/donate/racing4research2011 My friend's wife is their chief scientific officer, so this is a bit of a personal relationship on my end.
The weather was so fantastic this year, it truly made the event that much better! Thank you GRM for your hospitality again. If anyone wishes to, follow the link to the full set of photos I took this year: 2011 Rolex 24 Photos

hahaha funny we saw you the first 5 min there and could never find you again Kabel.
GT winners Andy Lally and Spencer Pumpelly just put out the word via Twitter: come celebrate with them tonight at Metalsome Mondays in Atlanta. Google will give you the location, time and details. (Looks like it's around the corner from where I used to live.)
Thanks for the heads up David. My girlfriend and I are having dinner at the pub upstairs. I'll be sure to get Spencer and Andy a drink or two for their efforts!
<img src="From Rolex 24 2011" /> Hey GRM Staff... Great job!!! What a fantastic event this year. Great weather (for a change), great people, great cars and most importantly great racing. Even got a photo with the eventual winner.

Karaoke night with the Rolex 24 GT winners was a blast! Well done to Spencer and Andy, they are great guys!
I may have sung a drunken rendition of Mr. Roboto in dedication to the TRG guys victory! I really hope nobody bought that DVD.

I just read/scanned all of the posts in this thread and unless I missed it, I'm surprised there's no talk of Juan Montoya's driving. Anyone else think he was driving like an idiot? I used to be a fan of his when he was in ChampCar, but WTF! Maybe he's just been in NASCRAP too long.

I'd bet the entire field (but not enough officials) thought Montoya was a butt-hole.
My respect meter dropped quite a few notches during his stints.
Heh, even his co-drivers were asking for a sign they could give other drivers so they would know it wasn't JPM behind the wheel.

Now that was funny....we wondered where you went
So cool! It was the first time I had gotten to shake hands with a retired Formula 1 Driver. Total envy, Martin is utterly cool!
