My club runs a non SCCA series of autocrosses and a discussion has come up on how far one can go on a safety harness for the stock class. Thoughts and suggestions are welcome Please do not get into the harnes vs roll bars, that has been covered.

I don't believe the SCCA has any limitations on what type of harness you can run, even in stock class, except that you MUST have a roll bar if you're using a harness in a convertible. Not to get into the harness vs. roll bar argument - I'm just stating the guidelines without further comment. Most non-SCCA clubs that I've run with still echo SCCA guidelines to some extent. What your club does is its own business, but I find it's easier to hop from one club's events to another if the rules and classing are somewhat consistent.

Thanks, that is exactly what I was thinking. Just wanted some verification.
