Once again, I will be making the trek to Sebring. I'm in NW FL and was wondering if there's anyone near here or passing through that would like to tag along or caravan. The more the merrier. My brother is definitely coming and a friend of mine is supposed to come as well. We'll be taking 2 cars and will have room for at least 2 more people. A caravan and or group campsite would be fun.
We're flying into Orlando a few days before and heading down.
I have an extra ticket if anyone wants a deal.
I will be there for sure! Look me up!
Where do you camp? I'll be somewhere in Green Park with a banner that reads : Boondoggle Racing... a subsidiary of Bad Idea Enterprises LLC. I'm gonna be there the whole damn time. Anything worth doing, right?

Please PM me on the ticket deal.
thanks
I am trying my hardest to go this year. Havent gone in 5 years, so time to go!
I used to go all the time growing up in Atlanta, then when I got stationed in St Petersburg I was right there, now not so much, have fun it's always a good time
Spitsix did my son get in touch with you on the ticket?
Oh man I WOULD LOVE TO! But I'm not near any of you to begin with lol but that would just be a great time for sure
I really want to see it live considering the tv coverage is 100% bs and the online is a joke.

Easy there, tell us how you really feel...
The ALMS is definitely growing, and its TV package is an attempt to further that trend by putting at least SOME coverage on a premier sports network. Had it stayed on speed, it might have been able to keep full live coverage on cable, but fewer people would see it. Not very many people get speed, and even fewer that do get it actually browse it regularly.
Think about it from the perspective of growing the sport. On ESPN, people who might not otherwise know about the series actually have a chance to "happen across" this great series. If it continues to grow, the current coverage can easily be expanded to live coverage on ESPN without an all-new contract.
Also, you can always just plug your computer into your tv....ta da! you still have full live coverage!

Or be awesome like me and have XBL! ESPN 3 rocks!
So are you guys saying this won't be shown on Speed?
I just never thought i'd see the day where the only way to watch a historic world widely know endurance race live, would be online.
And it's streaming on ESPN 3, can you imagine the lag with thousands watching?
and the only tv coverage is recaps
Online, on cable, who cares? The quality remains to be seen, so why don't we go ahead and reserve judgment on that. Either way, you will be able to watch every minute of BOTH qualifying and racing online, which is a huge expansion of coverage.
Also, the sprint races won't be recaps, they will just be tape delayed, with segments cut out and filled in with "up to speed" segments similar to the taped grand-am races. The endurance races will be recapped in like 2 hour segments the next day on ABC, which is not ideal but, like I said, you can still watch it all live online.
How do you get ESPN 3? I checked and it said my carrier carries it but how do I start using it?
What carrier do you have? With Time Warner you go online and enter your account number on espn3.com, and then it prompts you to create a username and pass.
Frontier and thanks, now i'm ready!
My son has a 4 day super ticket and he can't go. The ticket cost $100 but he's willing to let it go for $80. Anyone need a ticket?
Back to TV coverage are you guys saying this won't be on Speed?
Yes, that is what we are saying.
Speed will not be covering ANY ALMS events all season. I believe they will get coverage of Le Mans proper, but no ALMS.
ALMS is running on the ABC ESPN2 and ESPN3 family of networks. ABC and ESPN2 are running tape delayed recaps while live coverage is limited to ESPN3 and AmericanLeMans.com.

Now that sucks, but it doesn't really surprise me since ALMS is a competitor of Nascar and Rolex.
Now I've got to try to find that. I block all the ESPN channels from my Dish.

I had to pass on the ticket - Thanks for the offer. - Scott
Maybe someone else can use it.
