My daily craigslist addiction has found another potential candidate for making a few bucks, in the form of a 99' V6 Accord. As you probably know they are notorious for lunching transmissions and that is exactly what has happened to the car I found.

I am curious is anyone has written a guide to rebuilding the transmissions in these cars, a B7XA if my search skills prove me right. I know there are tons of them out there with this issue and if I can rebuild the transmission on the cheap and get the car up and running again that would be a nice daily driver.

i ran into the same problem with my girlfriend's 98 Accord V6. I bought a re-maned trans for $800. Don't have a guide to it, but re-mans are out there.

Good luck!

My coworker has a 6th gen 4-cyl manual Accord and all I can say is that car is unstoppable. 210k on it already, and besides the wear and tear it still drives great. On its second clutch, 3rd tbelt and wpump, interior looks like crap, but it drives wonderfully. give the 4-cyl manuals a look too.

The shop where I get my Civic worked on just gets re-man'd transmissions. It's faster, not sure it's cheaper. Unfortunately, even the "new" transmissions don't last if you hold on to the car long enough.

FWIW, there is now a swap available for putting the K series engine in these cars.
