A rust free 93 with 70k. I was looking for another NA2 but i could not let someone else grab this. It's getting hard to find inexpensive non ventilated cars up north so I may make it into a track car, DD or flip it in the spring.
Anyway, I need to get the maintenance items taken care of. The TB/WP has never been changed and probably never the tranny or rear end fluids. My question is while I'm changing the TB/WP and associated parts, should I replace all the coolant hoses? Anything else while I have everything apart? Sorry if this has been covered before but i couldn't find this topic.
On the back of the head, you definitely want to replace the two heater hoses, but don't forget about the coolant port cap that's there (shown below as "cursed water plug"):
Might want to do the CAS o ring if it's showing any sign of leaking while you're in there.
Personally, I'd replace all coolant lines as it's cheap and easy to do while you have the coolant drained..
EDIT: Make sure you get the Mazda OEM cap for that "cursed water plug," it'll last another 15 years. If you put one of the "vacuum boot kit" ones from O'AdvanceZone, it'll fail in a year or two.
