Hell it may be a basic club speedway car but that's still a lot of car for $6K!!
That plus this the 55 Roadmaster that needs floor pans I found on craigslist for $650 would equal the most badass looking track car evaaaarrrr.

register it as a kit car?
Wonder what it would take to make it turn Right? Seems like a VERY cheap way to get on Track and be able to run CP autox if your so inclined.

Could that run GT-1 in SCCA? That is very close to what we raced in IMSA in the late 80's. Our motors were 22K at that time, though. Wonder why so cheap.

There would be some changes needed in setup (obviously) and maybe the odd safety thing that would need to meet spec, but thats a GT1 car right there. Maybe not the worlds most competitive GT1 car, but still... There are a couple of guys that run late models in GT1 up here. They even run the same Goodyear or Hoosier crossply slicks we run on the circle track, which makes tires way cheap. 10.00x26.5x15s are under $150 each here, taxes in. I was paying 215 plus tax for my 225/45 15 Goodyear R tires at the same store.
I want it...I wonder how hard it would be to build a custom sports racer body on it...
I like the look of that Camaro, but want something a little...racier.
Don't those cars only turn left?
UGH!!! I hate being broke!!!
Anyone wanna buy a 5.4L Crown Vic P71 for $6k?
They can be made to turn both ways.
That's a really good deal. My race motors used to cost $5,500 on our Baby Grand.
Sold!
DIYAutoTune.com just added a car to their fleet... looking forward to picking it up.
We were already going to be at The Mitty of course, with a car corral and our 2012 MegaSquirt Meet happening there... now I have to go check and see if it's too late to enter the race! ;)

Threadjack alert... I am running $220 245/50-15s that are that exact diameter so my gearing would be unaffected. Do you know anything about comparative grip, recco slip angle etc to a Hoosier R6? (or even a part number for the tire so I can call Hoosier directly)?

Cool! Are you guys coming up to get it or having it shipped? If you come up PM me through here. That car isn't too far away from me.
Going to drive up Saturday night after the Supercross here in ATL. Looking forward to that, not so much to the 13hr drive right afterward ;).
Probably be a bit of a whirlwind trip but we might be able to grab a bite to eat somewhere I suppose.... Just me and a buddy of mine making the trek probably. Dragging someone along to poke me in the ribs if I look sleepy....
I dunno... according to your sig you're in to asscheese, and I just don't think I can go there....
j/k
Just for fun...sure... what's the email address on your DIY account? If we successfully pick up the car (meaning it exists at this price and is what we see in the pics) I'll drop a little present on your account ;).

I've never run the purple glue. All the tracks I run on around here are very coarse asphalt, so its really hard to judge grip improvement. Example: I have run RA-1 Toyos, R888 Toyos and the Goodyear Eagle RS. Lap times similar, feel similar, 2.5 hours lifespan. I set the IT2 lap record at Race City in Calgary with a NOS (11 years old) set of Yokohama A032's that I'd found at a buddys shop.
As far as useful info, I have read that the Goodyears are very similar in grip and speed to the Hohos, but I have no personal experience for you.
I went Goodyear because I could get them freight free from the local circle track tire supplier. I hated the R888's. I would go back to the RA1's and be happy.
