So I’m sitting at a red light in the 911 when this pulls up next to me

When driving anything smaller/older, I try to keep those Spidey-Senses on full alert.

Basically, is anything a threat or not? And when you’re sitting pretty close to the deck with tiny brake lights and little bumpers, you tend to view most everything as a threat.

So while waiting to get onto I-95 yesterday, this rolls up next to me. 

According to the specs, that John Deere 6120M weighs 12,500+ pounds. If my quick research is correct, those rear tires stand nearly 70 inches tall, putting at least a foot and a half on the Porsche.

Oh, and it was loud, too.

So, who won?

Id like to see how fast it took off, had to be the slowest thing on the road for miles, probably one of the heaviest too.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was thinking that.

Deere guys have the worst fight on their hands with regards to right to repair. I feel for them. 

You'd enjoy experiencing that same situation in a lowered Miata, as I and many others have! Shoot, in a lowered Miata, your 911 is as big as a Silverado!

And the driver of the 12,500 pound vehicle is texting, so that's good.

I have a lowered Miata. Believe me, I did that math while sitting there. 

I always wanted to drive under a farm crop sprayer.

I encountered something similar while taking my daughter back to school.  It was keeping up with 45mpg traffic. Scared the crap out of me the way it was bouncing around on those tires.

I can't tell you how many times I thought about doing that back when I lived in farm country... It would have been soooo easy in a Miata.

Since we're talking about a classic 911, the size comparison isn't quite so dramatic. A 1983 911 only has a 0.25" longer wheelbase than an NA Miata, and stock heights are within 4". Even closer if you've got a hardtop on the Miata. Believe it or not, the first generation Miata is actually wider than an '83 911 SC.

I Spitfire would fit (the car not the plane); I've raced against them with my 1200................A Datsun 1200 is 6 inches shorter and narrower than a Miata and my car dwarfs a Spitfire.

Now if you want a really uncomfortable:

There is a mine in one area we ride dirt bikes. It was most famously in the Bond flick Diamonds are Forever (the scene where Bond gets chased by security guys on 3 wheelers).

More than once we've come around a corner to find a Titan dump truck thing parked in the road. 

When you've been around equipment your entire life, you dont even notice things like that. Too bad, because it was always fun to watch kids go bonkers when you showed up.

I was in my Miata one day and a guy in a MG Midget pulled up next to me.  I was looking down at it.     Same thing happened with a Lotus Elise.

Also, the tractor was towing one of those big lawn mowers.

When you're driving a Spitfire, a Smart car can look like an SUV in your mirror. 

Sharing roads with large tractors is fairly common in the farm areas of PA, NJ, NY... most of the US...  It is amusing to have one pull up next to you at a traffic light.

FWIW, I do feel a tick more vulnerable driving the Miata.

I had the same thoughts about a supermoto and a grape harvester

You can't imagine what it feels like to be driving around 100 or so 60 ton dump trucks...
