... and then sold two plus the fireman stuff off the third for what he had invested, essentially leaving him a free Ford F-8000.

He's got this Parnelli Jones fetish. He hoists his 1966 Mustand fastback up on the ramps and pulls the newer 'Stang on a trailer behind. Pretty clever, he made it so that to roll the car off the ramp, you just roll onto and off the trailer. Ramps, no need to unhook the trailer.

In the side boxes he's got the necessities like coolers, pullout plasma TV.

That's so cool.

Any pics of the '66?

Any pics with the '66 on the truck, and the newer one on the trailer?

I've always wanted to do that to a fire truck! Make mine a ragtop Seagrave.

Needs sleeper compartment under the highest point with some window action.

Man... I'd love to have that setup.

That is sweet! I thought the pics were going to be "this is what he wants to do", not "this is his incredibly cool tow vehicle".

Do you have any pics of the build, or underbody pics? I'm curious to see how much support he has under the deck, what the truck he started with looked like (the configuration, not how much rust it had, etc).

Does he have any kind of non-slip stuff on the deck? It looks like it's just painted metal which could get pretty slippery.

Thanks,

Bob

I've seen that setup up at multiple SoCal car shows, would that have been him? I was actually looking through my photo albums looking for pics of that setup for the hauler thread yesterday.

Last time I saw it there was a different vehicle (some exotic) on the back with the corresponding paint scheme.

The deck is 2 X 3" tubing, 3/8 diamond plate on top.

Nice. What powers the truck? Does he have any trouble keeping up with traffic towing two cars? I've seen a few like that with modern turbo diesels swapped in and they do great.

That truck he built it awesome!

I found one a few years back sitting in a harley davidson dealership lot on my way home. Older, and general motors flavored.

I think that's the first car I've seen where the new New York license plates don't look like E36M3. Sweet setup!

Look at the rear shot of the truck, those four clevis'. The ramp lays on them via a pin and just rests on the deck of the trailer.

The trailer isn't finished and the '66 is inside getting a hum & buff.

He says it rides well, why not it lacks 8000 lbs of firefighting equipment. Only drawback is the governor kicks in at 60 mph. That's about to change.

I noticed that both trucks' front fender is higher than stock after all the weight is removed. Time for a SOA swap.

That is my favorite Mustang of all time. Even more than Steve McQueen's.

Why Ford doesn't do a Special Edition street car of that is just beyond me...

Saleen had a Parnelli Jones Mustang in 2007.

Give them some time. The 5L has only been back for a few weeks, so there's plenty of time for a Boss 302.
