As I live in a fairly isolated place, used OEM wheels are pretty expensive. However, the tri-bars of the 94-95 Mustang GT are still fairly cheap around here so I photoshopped a set on my car (the stickers have since been mostly removed). For some reason, I think these work way better than they should. What does GRM think?

I like it.

Just don't paint them black (and I LOVE black wheels) and it'll look good!

They look much better than I would have thought. And nice photoshopping skills!

The one time I almost bought a panther it was a box grand marquis and it had these on it.

I remember thinking they looked far better than I would have thought. They're off of a late 90s Explorer/Ranger.

I thought the bolt pattern was different.

I started to argue until I remember most tri-bars I've seen are on 4 lug fox bodies. I'm wanting to remember that 94-95 SN95s also had them though, and those are the same 5x4.5 pattern that it seems basically every Ford short of a full size truck is.

You'll want to test fit them on the car to make sure offset & backspacing issues aren't present. They'll probably look decent; I agree on not painting them black. They might also look good painted white which is not something I would normally suggest.

The Panther community is pretty on top of what wheels interchange. A friend has one with Mustang wheels on it, looks great. But his is the later 2003+ that has different geometry, you have to watch for that.

Yup, 94-95 GTs had them.

In reply to Keith Tanner:

Yeah, I'm going to need to run a small (1/4") spacer up front to clear the ball joints, but the lugs are definitely long enough that I'll have plenty of thread to be safe.

Looks alright even though it shouldn't!

Three spokes dont look good on anything.

If it doesn't clear the fender, hack it out. Ultra wide with jdm flares yo!

I was trying to figure it out too, and I've decided that hey look like BMW 7 series to me. Maybe using adapters to correct the bolt pattern?

If that the case, then Cherokee wheels should also fit. The winter wheels from the 99 ranger I had bolted right onto an 86 Cherokee.

They remind me of super advans. This isn't a bad thing.

Also, I will make this really easy. Yes, cherokee wheels will fit. Cherokees crown vics, fc rx7's, etc- 5x114.3. I know a lot of guys that like the cv meshies for fit and offset for their rotaries.

Probably. Look close, the bmw roundels are still on the center caps.

Yup, 7 series wheels. For stock wheels I think that looks pretty good. Not a fan of the slammed stance but the wheels could stay.

I've been involved with Ford to ChryCo wheel swaps. All the standard 5x4.5 RWD fits well enough. Learned that when mom had a panther and dad had an early Ram.

I keep wanting to catch my sister not looking and try bolting the wheels from her XJ onto her '97 GT. Fairly certain the tires won't fit under the fenders though.

Also I have 2 more wheel suggestions now.

That's way to 80's to stick on a SN95.

Four eyed Fox those would look at home though.

Those wheels are also only 7" wide (and probably quite heavy) so not worthy of the swap IMO.
