Oof...good thing I'm not in a position to pick up a new project.
I'm horrible, because I'd buy this thing and sell off the air suspension and 4.5 V8, all the good interior bits.
Then put in an LS stroked to 6.8L, leave the blue paint, and half white vinyl top, and call it the Blau Sau.
I just want somebody to buy it to keep me from doing it.
I'm near Austin, have a truck and trailer, big shop, and happen to have a new, stroked, bored, forged, blown, and intercooled 6.8LS sitting around....
Have a paint shop fix the fire damage on the hood and fender, buff the rest out. Give the interior a good cleaning and fix a few details. Remove drivetrain, air suspension, and related bits. Install LS, 4l80, coilovers, and do PowerTour.

Please do it! And document everything
Very roomy engine bay for all sorts of shenanigans. My friend just completed an M113k swap into one of these with a 722.6. Very cool car.
Omg. It's local to me but I already have one land yacht too many. To adequately account for any restoration or project build costs, I'd have to figure in the likely attorney fees and the divorce settlement. Damn, it's getting expensive just scrolling through the photos now.
I mean, LS would be superb, but how bad would an AMG E65 or something of the like stripped of the engine. rebuilt and dropped in.....
getting rid of newer Mercedes Electric stuff if a lot of the issues right?
Damn I was just in Austin this past weekend and didn't see this ad. I would've bought it. I would'nt of LS swapped it though. Modern Mercedes (2000+) v8's are pretty swappable engines with manual transmissions that bolt directly to them. I have a w108 that I'm doing a Mercedes biturbo v12 swap in, finding an engine is annoying simply because I'm being cheap. If i cant get a hold of a biturbo v12 then I'll use a NA v12 or AMG v8 engine.
If yall looking for a w108 or w109 project I know a guy who has a couple for around $2000 each.
