Hello folks, I am looking to make a simple wiring harness for a motorbike project. Where do you folks source your multi-color wire? Thanks in advance -V

I haven't bought any but while doing some research for a project I found these two sites:

http://www.waytekwire.com/products/

Pull-a-part. I like Toyotas. Their connectors (largely AMP) can be disassembled and reassembled. I paid $5 for a large chunk of harness and connectors.

My personal etiquette is to leave intact engine harnesses intact, or take the whole thing. Body harnesses, I hack away.

That is not a bad idea

Thanks

Pick a car brand and go to the re-cyclers. Wire colors are often specific for a function that will transfer to your project; i.e. turn signal wires and headlight wires are standard across the GM line and you get to know them pretty quick. Interesting to know about the Toyota wires that can be pulled apart at the connectors; that would be a big help.

Buying an assortment of wires with enough color combinations to do a wiring job is going to get very expensive. More so if you factor connectors. The cost of wire at a recyclers is going to be quite low.

You can get various colors at any store that sells electrical wireing..

I reused the body harness that came with my front clip when I swapped engines in my 240sx. I also had a wiring harness out of a 60ft mass transit bus, long story, but really nice to have. I reused a lot of the Nissan connectors, matching colors when possible, but I also have a schematic of all the wiring (colors, functions, etc) that I did.
