Personally, I'd see if I could find a Holley spread bore with vacuum secondaries and yes they are out there, the model number is 4175, the double pumper is a 4165. The main reason is that there is a ton of jetting etc info available which would make your life easier, not to mention jets are available pretty much anywhere. FWIW, I have never seen a Holley leak from the bowls.
Of course, EFI would be even better but as others have said that can get into some $$.
Quadrajets will be more common than the Holley but you have to contend with the metering needles and a general lack of know how when rejetting, you'll be starting from scratch.

Definitely want vacuum secondaries. My understanding was the QJ/ Thermoquad was like an 800 CFM carb, but they could use it on anything from wheezy 305's to big blocks, it was so versatile.
The street Demon is nice, but...man, $470!
Wow, where are you getting your prices? I sell them for around $347 + shipping (and/or tax for PA residents) for the #1904 (750 CFM) and $313 for the #1901 (625 CFM). If I could get $470 for them I'd be able to run a bigger ad in GRM!
I just did a quick search and saw Jegs had them for $470. For your prices I am more interested, and of course always happy to do business with a fellow GRM'er. The 625 CFM should be plenty for my mostly-stock 383. Color me interested.
Edit: I see Summit sells the 1901 for about $313.
Do you normally see MPG equivalent or better to a decently-set up QJ or TQ with these Demons? How about tunability, and durability? I guess since Holley bought them the parts availability and support is going to be decent. How hard are they to rebuild? Electric choke works just like an Edelbrock- hook up 12V and done?
And, of course, how easy to hook up to the 383 throttle and kickdown linkage?
Where in PA are you? I'm right over the Mason Dixon line in 21158 land.
3 deuces?? I'm sure[?] there is a tri-power set up....
Run the engine on one... and then have 2 more for the loud pedal..........

Well you'd win on cool points, but I am pretty sure a good spreadbore would win every other contest.
I like six pack setups. With stiff gears and manual transmission. Auto and highway gears make them suck.
Gm tbi is still my vote.

I'm about 2 hours from you. Downingtown, PA.
Depending on the product, I usually can price match Summit & Jeg's. Can drop ship through a couple of the warehouses we deal with too.
Most of the guys who have gone with the Street Demon are using them on their weekend toys. All have said it was the easiest carb they ever installed. None have given MPG feedback yet. Most are just happy with how well it's running.
I haven't had to install one on a Mopar with an auto yet, but I'd probably just use the Edelbrock #1481 throttle lever adapter.
Yes the electric choke is just like the Ed one. 12V+ key-on and done.
Haven't had to rebuild on yet. They haven't been out that long. But opening it up it's about as easy as an Edelbrock/Carter AVS.
Holley wanted Demon mostly for this carb. Demon was working on it as things were going bad. The plan was for a crate motor type of carb to compete with the Edelbrocks. Demon had it on paper, but Holley brought it to market.
In reply to Rob_Mopar:
Summit has them for $313 with free shipping. Downington's a bit of a drive, but if you can do that, let me know your email and I'll paypal you (bank transfer). Go ahead and add a 1481 kit to the bill, too. Thanks.

My warehouse usually dings me with a drop ship fee, but I can push back on them to meet Summit.
I'm not setup for paypal at the shop, but if you want to give me a call we can do Visa-MC-Discover. Shop website is in my signature here.
If you PM me here it will go to the shop e-mail address. ECM fixed that for me last night. (Thanks Again!)
Wish I had done all this homework a few weeks ago when I went up to a friend's place in Souderton, I could have stopped by your shop. I don't usually get over your way much. I'll give you a ring. Thanks.

Sounds good. Happy Andy has been encouraging me to have a GRM forum meet & greet here at the shop. Might have to pick a Saturday over the winter and do it.
I got my brake kit from rob, VERY HAPPY!

If you do, and the weather's decent, I might be able to convince the wife and baby to pile into the T&C and go.
