Noticed in the S197 article that Terry Fair of Vorshlag commented:
“The S197 has one of the best ABS systems we’ve seen,” Terry says. “That 2011-’14 system is what we swap on other cars.”

Sounds like another retrofit option. Couldn't find any details for a swap though.

At about the 1:29 point he mentions the MK60 and how the S197 unit cycles more aggressively.
We installed a '05 325 MK60 in our Lemons Volvo 745 with stock calipers/ST43 pads. Just a plain 325 unit, not a M3. We raced with it at Buttonwillow last weekend. Going from no ABS to the 325 MK60 was an incredible upgrade. Thank you to those that contributed to this forum post.
