On the one hand, I'm really glad I don't have the space or money...yet I'm also really sad too! But seriously, if it had been fixed right, would $10k for an STi with a salvage title & just under 100kmi be a good deal?

FWIW, the car is local to me. In fact I believe it's parked about a mile from my office. That, or else there's 2 of them here in town. I also have a friend who runs a body shop that would possibly be able to give his professional opinion on the repair work, and I would love to find an excuse to take this thing for a drive, so if anybody is seriously interested....

Looks like a lot of car for $10k. I would want to see more detailed pics of the damage, though. That looks like a lot of damage to have fixed for $2200.

i call BS on the $2200 repair and he is so full of crap on the state farm titling policy so run far far away, he's lying about it.

the only time state farm makes you get a salvage title is when they total out the vehicle, and $2200 of work on an STi is not that mark. more like $15-20k of damage.

Yeah I though his story seemed way off too. Either way though, it would be foolish to consider it without a good inspection. You have to wonder how the p.o. treated the car in general. I'm wondering if it wasn't closer to $2200 in parts for the repair?

Pete, if I had the money I'd be there too. Though I agree that does look like a lot of damage for a $2180 repair bill.

OTOH...if he was wanting to be deceptive, why post the damage picture at all? Still fishy, but a rolled STI doesn't cost much less than that.

No way the damage shown in the picture was repaired for $2200. Rear quarter, C-pillar, door and it looks like the suspension is bent also.

Hell, if I had the money I'd make an offer on it to get the drive-train for an RSTi swap.

The body work alone is going to be 2k..
