I think I've decided it's time to spend the next 6-12 months learning everything there is to know about the EVO X.
The way these things hold their value, I wonder if it will remain or even go up, if the rumors about the 2014 being a hybrid or even diesel-hybrid are true.
The Evo X has the smallest trunk of any 4 door I've ever seen. Seriously, you're not gonna fit anything of any reasonable size in it. Other than that, I liked the interior and it's supposed to drive great.

Blew out a ring land (common occurance).
I dont care what kind of car it is, that doesnt just happen.
Thats tune related. Whether it's subaru's fault or the owner's fault, it's not something that breaks just because.
It's not tune related if the pistons are too weak for the application - in this case, I believe the ring lands are simply not suited to the application.

Now thats opening up a can of worms. IMHO its not just the cast pistons that are the problem. I could go on all day cataloging the faults or things that need to be fixed on this motor. But I just like to accept it for the quick odd little econobox engine that it is.
Just realized the nearest Mitsu dealers are 100 miles in one direction, 135ish in the other. That's kind of bummer, but not sure it's enough to overcome the seemingly inherent weakness of the STi engine.
