SC cars sitting in 17, 46, 48 and 78 over all. Short transit tonight. Should be into the hotel by 8:00 with the time change.

We're tucked into the hotel, and I managed to edit some photos from today. Nothing of the fast cars / Tom yet. But, here's a smattering of the SundaeCup cars and general ambiance from today...
Current SundaeCup eta to the hotel is floating around 10:45.
We all stopped part of the way along, because Howard and Mark were pulled over with engine trouble. Too much to bother with on the side of a 4 lane highway, they're planning to flatbed it to a shop for assessment.
Roadside assistance, another thing the vack of the pack sees more of, as we "sweep" the route.
*Bob & Seth's ETA mightprobably be a bit later. Since they were providing Howard et all more substantial help.

Speaking of flatbeds...attrition...
I see that Jenna DNS (did not start) her GTI at Nashville for both morning or afternoon. What happened?
I also see the 944 DNS morning or afternoon either?
The 911 Turbo S DNS for the afternoon only?
In reply to John Welsh :
Jenna's GTI went out for the morning session, and only completed 1 hot lap. Current working theory is that it had a significant infestation of nanobeavers... which left a sparkplug in a very non-sparkplug-like condition... from what I heard. I don't have details beyond that.
I did have the wonderful experience of getting to see some of the action Saturday morning. Here are a clue of pics that I thought were fun.
Not everyday you get to park next to a McLaren. Even if you are a Jaguar. Good thing I ran the quick detailer over that jag the night before!
These guys are running a Corolla with a lot of nitrous. Wanted to make sure they had transportation home if something decided to go pear-shaped. Also, it turns out I went to college with one of the teammates, and we didn't know each other but we definitely recognized each other. Fun.
Amazing day today. A bit longer than anticipated. Ram morning session, sat at the top of the SC list by .08 second after 3 laps. Had no idea I'd do that well Becky was literally in my heals and looking for time in the afternoon session and found 2 more seconds than I did. Still super happy with the car and utterly shocked that the meat bag inside didn't screw it upworse.
during the transit another one lapper was stranded so we spent an hour trying to assist unsuccessfully before a little over 4 hour non stop stint to get to the hotel.
Such a fantastic group and an amazing week in the works.
Today's photos will be brought to you by the grace of Brock, and the kindness of CMP's corner workers....
The results of Carolina morning session
Sadly, I see that Jenna did not make it out on track. Speaking of attrition, there were 3 cars that DNS for Day 2. Here on Day 3 there are a total of 7 cars that DNS the morning session; yesterdays same 3 cars plus 4 more cars.
Anybody know what happened to the engine on a trailer Corolla guys?
I can't find them in any results and I'm wondering if they had an early issue and swapped to a rental car... Maybe team 36?
They're here. I'll get their number in a few. I think they filled in for someone else last minute.
edit: 61
In reply to Robbie (Forum Supporter) :
They took the spot, at the last minute, of a couple Lapdogs that have occasionally brung a Ford LTD wagon... and had planned to bring a mustang. So the spot still has the Mustang/Mckay info from when Brock set the grid.
Sleepyhead report:
Completed my first session in Marlon's Mazda2. Third gear doesn't like to be rushed. It brakes amazingly. I still need to learn the grip... but it rotates beautifully and controllably... without being "snappy".
I've been slightly anxious since Friday. Now looking forward to the rest of the driving this week.
It's possible that the fast cars will be leaving Lanier, and into Atlanta traffic about 5pm
It's also possible that SC cars will be leaving Lanier at 7pm
I predict time of arrival at hotel to be about the same
Last night was a giant ball of stress and anxiety and indecision about driving today. Can I still do this? Do I even want to? This whole thing is a blast even without driving on track after all.
But I did. Suited up and put the helmet on for the first time in 3 years. And it was fun. Two corners in and everything came back. The Kia is still a car that I don't know and my perception of speed is not exactly tuned to the sensations of big track and driving it in a slow car. But really, it was a blast. Three laps around CMP in 6:16.5 which was good enough for P2/4 in class for the morning and about a second a lap faster than Bob in the afternoon. Track was hotter and what not, but it's good to know that I'm still playing the same game as my friends.
Speaking of games, this is Isaac, the son of my friend who went with me on my first One Lap in 2015.
They came to visit and we got into a serious game of knock the pinecone of Seth's knee followed by have Seth push you around on the scooter for an hour. It was great. But it also meant that my scheduled nap didn't happen and I'm so freaking tired. We're on our way to drive around a cereal bowl for time before heading to bed for the night.
You're looking rather "Keith Urban" in that photo
He might be a good choice to play you in the yet to be released movie about your life.
What meats are the Sundae Cup running?.......might catch y'all at Barber tomorrow.......be safe late

So Pete and I are running falken 615's. Tim and Marlon are on rt660's and Becky's car is on A052 (not legal for Gridlife SC but ok here). But let's have the honest talk here. I'm not getting beat because of tire choice. Becky and scott are really good drivers, she has worked super hard getting Mooncake setup and working like a race car should. They were a force to be reckoned with before it started and they couldn't be two better people.
