OK... so the Swift found it's new owner last Saturday. So this weekend I got the new toy.
Appears to be a Z51 coupe, with the 13" frt brakes and the stiffer suspension. Car is clean for being 22 years old and runs pretty good. Like anything else odf this age, it needs some work. THe OD unit is intermittent, the battery is dead and it needs 2 tires. A tune up and complete fluid change is a MUST.
But otherwise.... you tell me if it's worth $3400:
OK... gratuitous truck photos out of the way...
Special thanks to the Folks for going along...there was no way I was ready for all that driving alone. ANd to the wifey for putting up with me!
Looks good!
BTW, the lid of the little 'glove' compartment between the seats has the OEM option sticker on it. That's how I found out mine has the Z52 suspension...
I'd say you did well for $3400! Those look like C5 wheels (could be replicas). Any clearance issues?
Cool! I love early C4s. Actually I love all C4s.
Funny thing - I saw your seller feedback post on TeamSwift. You and I both bought GTs from the same dude.
Back to the Vette - I love the red interior. That's a really cool car.

No issues. They're likely replicas, I haven't pulled them yet to see what size (width) they are yet. I got home at 1am last night and was back in at work today....A little tired.
My glovebox console lid is destroyed. No sticker.

. Usually the way to tell Z51 suspension is if it rides so hard that your teeth loose their fillings, it's got the Z51 option. At least the the Z52 also came with the quick rack, don't know if the Z51 did, too. And trust me, the quick rack is very noticeable.
I like C4s but prefer the later interiors. You can't go wrong with the price though. What are the plans? Sticking with the auto or swapping in a stick (ZF6 spd or T5?).
I was shopping for an LT1 C4 before I decided to go in a different direction for a track toy. Good luck, looks great. Z06 wheels?
Did you get a free gold chain, and the removal of the top three buttons on every shirt that you own?
All kidding aside, nice score!
^ Correct, it is a 4+3. Plans right now are to get all the fluids changed, filters and a pair of tires. From there.... we'll see. Looks like the upper control are bushings are still intact, but they are cracked so it's only a matter of time. So this winter's list will be:
Stainless brake lines/fluid flush, hawk HPS pads, intake modification of some sort, poly bushings, chip swap and a throrough once over.
Car runs great. It drives solid and has almost no wind noise (shocker!) and very few creaks and rattles. Both of those were a big suprise to me. The main plan: Enjoy it. Auto-x it, track day it and just enjoy owning a piece of American Pie.
