My Boxster
I say turbo the Boxster. It will be easier and cheaper to make the Boxster more raw than make the 911 nice.
I'm not afraid of bodywork either...I just know I'm not so good at it so I'll be paying someone. My biggest money-loser ever:
1970 911T ca. 1998
the day I bought it:
After soda blasting, floors, rockers and veriprime:
Having already had 911s, you know you're going to do it. There simply is no comparison. Most of the guys saying keep the Boxster never owned a 911, much less drove one. Yeah, it's impractical and can be expensive but there is no sweeter driving vehicle(for a driver)that will only increase in value instead of losing $$ the longer you keep it. Some things you just can't put a price tag on.
1972! Only year for the external oil filler (bad idea, but very cool now).

Actually, you can put a huge price tag on 911 projects cars.

I'm not against 911s. I even like the early more than the later. But it's just one of those that you buy the absolute best one you can.
AC 911s have already bottomed out on the depreciation curve. Early ones are starting to hit some pretty big money. Even though they built a lot, the clock has started on getting cheap ones. That one doesn't look gawd awful. Just lose the strosek front fenders.

Can you imagine the things you don't know yet?As a bodyman, a 911 needing bodywork is about the only way I can afford to buy them. In fact, after my expereince, I'd rather buy on that was advertised as needing bodywork before one that says it's in perfect condition, as "perfect" is often hiding something. I know a thing or two about 911 bodywork: Not afraid of bodywork, like on my Fiat: http://home.comcast.net/~cvetters3/fiat_spider.htm
As an amateur hobbyist that does bodywork on my projects only I am in awe of your skills. Great work. Hope I make it to that level one day
