I get that some folks hate them, and that's fine, but some of us like a big hole in our roofs. To each his own, Carry on....... edit----- I lied. I freaking hate Honda / Acura sunroofs. They barely open at all, don't let much light or air in, and are generally worthless.
I love sunroofs too. Or for me...... more correctly moonroofs. Here in Michigan you can slide back the sun shade in winter and feel the sun on your head and face...........well at least for the two days in winter that are actually sunny that is. As previously mentioned it also allows space to wear your helmet. Yes, it adds weight and complexity and a bunch of money to the purchase price..... if you purchase the vehicle new but I still like them. My WRX slides back in while the RX7 comes out and back and kinda hangs out there like and air foil or something. Yes I prefer the Miata with full top down capability but that hibernates all winter. I have never had a problem with any of them...........of course now that I have said that.
