Am I the only one who wished that he'd gotten just a little more air?

That may have been some payback to the driver, but it would have made the rest of the outcome worse, as I see it. Landing on the roof would be a very uncontrolled massive body just sliding down a steep hill.

Point taken, but this sort of thing just brings out the cranky old man in me.
Remember when (was it jackass? I think so) some guys took a rental car - and bought the insurance - and then proceeded to jump it over a bridge, on a public road, on film, for personal profit, multiple times, and then returned a garbage car after causing who knows how many thousands of dollars of damage to the car and the roads?
Oh yeah, that was back when people were more intelligent though ...
Gonna need a lot to top this internet hero. One of the oldest things I ever remember seeing in YouTubes. Tesla bro needs to do his homework because Flying Le Sabre sticks the landing .
I bet our own jfryjfry would stick the Tesla landing, not that he would attempt it in these dangerous circumstances.
I don't know about people being dumber, but as has been stated, there are potential rewards for showing off while acting dumb. And I don't know where to begin about our legal system. But if asshats like this guy did some real jail time, it's pretty safe to say that there'd be fewer of them.

It must be hard for you being so much smarter than everyone else. You'll certainly enjoy your move to Mississippi. LoL
In reply to yupididit :
Wow. Personal attack on a whole state...
BTW, the guy I've coached basketball with the last 26 years is from Jackson, has a Masters in Child Development Education, and we've won a state championship. His brother recorded a perfect score on his ACT, and his sister nearly did as well.
In reply to racerfink :
No, it's sarcasm based on a previous post of him leaving Texas for Mississippi as if he's not going to run until the same E36 M3 and same type of people he thinks he's getting away from. With his attitude he will get the same everywhere. Because everyone is stupid and I'm not.
I have a large amount of family from MS. A few who have pretty good academic accomplishments as well.
The great thing about social media is, while these idiots got their 30 seconds of fame, the same platforms that they use to promote their stupidity are the same platforms that will allow them to be found and held responsible by (whoever) rented to them, the guy who's car got hit, and the Police with ample evidence of crimes commited. Hell, I hope they get done for animal cruilty as well.

I disagree. Only a few short hundred years ago, stupid people died. We've now created a society that caters to stupid people so they live longer and make more stupid people. I provided literacy rates for the US once to show this on this forum (only the crickets replied). It's (intelligence) on a steep decline. Of course, denial is strong. No one wants to admit that stupidity and our education system are actual problems that should be addressed. People are too worried about their coffee or favorite reality TV shows to do that. Don't just say it or hypothesize it, show actual evidence. I just finished reading an article stating that leaded gasoline, resulted in lead in the water which made most of the population dumber going back to the 70s. It's an interesting idea that should be investigated further.
I could insert something about the "smartest man I know," here but none of you all are ready to acknowledge or discuss that. I'll just keep planting acorns when stuff like this keeps happening more and more frequently. Maybe 1 out of 100 here will have an ah ha moment one day.
In the meantime, laugh on, and enjoy the trip on that big river in Egypt.
The sad part is that these stupid people are making the world a more dangerous place to live each day. See the crime rates in most big cities, and the silly DAs that do nothing about it. It'll become a self correcting problem one day. We could acknowledge it, work together, and take action on it, but nah that requires effort. I guess we are still trying to figure out why gas prices are so high too.... I'm sure it's all random. None of this bad stuff could actually be happening as direct result of anything; it's all just bad luck.
I am really sick of this attitude. Every single generation is looked down upon and belittled by the generation, or two, prior to them. If this postulation about reduced intelligences etc was even remotely true, we'd all have devolved back into the oceans.
Millennials were lazy and entitled, Gen X was the participation trophy layabouts, Baby boomers were a bunch of entitled hippies. The funny thing is the complaints thrown at the younger generation tend to be exaggerations of things that the older complaining generation created and foisted upon the younger ones. I for sure admire the younger generations and really do not envy a lot of what we're leaving for them to sort out. Record inequality, record wealth and power held by a shrinking minority, The minimum wage, originally intended so one earner could support a family now doesn't' provide enough for a single person to live on without assistance. Record high housing costs, record high health care costs, record high education costs, yet you now need a degree to do jobs that really don't need one. Education run by officials with agendas to prove how lazy teachers are, yet they refuse to listen to the teachers on how to improve the system.
“The children now love luxury; they have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for elders and love chatter in place of exercise. Children are now tyrants, not the servants of their households. They no longer rise when elders enter the room. They contradict their parents, chatter before company, gobble up dainties at the table, cross their legs, and tyrannize their teachers.”
― Socrates
Every generation thinks they're the last good one. The kids are alright.

Thanks for posting that.
I was going to as well but I thought the quote was by Aristotle so I probably wouldn't have found it.
Keith Tanner said:...Gas prices are easy. Until someone started a war, they were at historically normal levels. But if you only look back a year, it looks catastrophic because the price had collapsed during the pandemic. They should be around $3.30 or so. Obviously, a shooting war is causing some problems right now.
https://www.usinflationcalculator.com/gasoline-prices-adjusted-for-inflation/
Since 2015, gas prices have averaged between $2.30 to $2.70 (give or take a bit either way). Pandemic accounts for a drop of about $0.50 to the average.
Starting in April 2021 prices were creeping up to or past the high end of averages over 7 years, and in June 2021 the average topped $3.00 and hasn't gone down, with a $3.40+ average at the end of February. Putin invaded Feb 24, and the March average is $4+.

Those numbers are meaningless until they're adjusted for inflation, though. The price of everything has been going up over the past year as inflation has kicked in. That big spike over the past year looks scary but if you try to draw a slope through that whole graph you'll see it's not that far off historically.
People don't tend to do that, the price of something gets fixed in our mental databanks at some point and then it's just too expensive after that. $30k for a Miata? They used to be under $14k! Well yes, but those dollars were more than twice as valuable as they are now.

The case of the flying Tesla Model S that went viral this past weekend has taken a rather strange turn. After initially claiming to be the driver of the ill-fated vehicle, social media influencer Dominykas “Durte Dom” Zeglaitis has clarified that he actually lied about his involvement in the stunt. Zeglaitis explained his updated stance on the incident in a video uploaded on his personal YouTube channel.
As videos of the Model S’ dramatic jump went viral this past weekend, Zeglaitis shared several posts on TikTok, claiming that he was behind the wheel of the car. One TikTok video featured the influencer with the caption “I just crashed my new Tesla,” and in a follow-up clip, Zeglaitis called the insane Tesla jump “my stunt.” He also mocked the Los Angeles Police Department’s investigation on the matter.
