Get your bad idea on with a lot of room left in budget.
The one mentioned earlier is way cleaner.
Either of those plus a 1uz would be rad.

1. Smallest car you've ever owned.
2, Largest or most powerful street legal drive train you've ever driven.
3. Biggest wheels/ tires you've had on a vehicle
4. Color/paint scheme of car you first learned to drive
COMBINE FOR CHALLENGE BUILD
MINE? A Fiat 850, with 455 Buick wildcat drive train on 35" gumbo mudders painted teal and white like a 50s era Metropolitan
Pinto/Miata/Turismo with a 6.1 SRT Hemi in that most awesome 80’s flaking silver or white paint found on fords and gms of that era...
Yeah I don’t think that will or can happen in Challenge money.... drat.

Anyone who buys one of these I will give them a 93 LS400 to help make this happen.

And 10 minutes later I'm texting a guy about buying his smart car shell off CL.
Didn't this already happen once with an isetta?
I'm pretty sure everything I've ever brought to the Challenge was a bad idea, and everything I started but was unable to finish for the Challenge was a worse idea.
In reply to Ovid_and_Flem :
a 95 Mirage with a 360 V8 on 245/75/r16 and painted white.
Not gonna lie, that would probably be a hoot.
Just needs a hoop cage like a pulling tractor and a wider track. Looks like it corners great. Do they make Hoosiers in tractor?
In reply to Ovid_and_Flem :
OK, lessee,
Europa, Cadillac 472, 285/60-18 Nitto Terra Grappler G2, 70's Buick Brown.
What's the transmission like on those Maser's? Can they handle 300 HP? See, I have this extra 4th gen 3SGTE sitting on a stand in my shop. I kinda technically have zero in it, 'cause, you know, I bought it just for the turbo core. It was cheaper to buy the whole motor than try to source a turbo core, so that would be like zero dollars for budget, right? RIGHT? ....
I have a 318 with 250k on it that will probably be more reliable in a biturbo than the original engine

Mine would be a Subaru 360 with a 7.3L diesel, 5' diameter tractor tires, painted with peace signs and flowers!

A guy on w-body.com did this with a 94ish cutlass coupe and a pair of supercharged 3.8 drivetrains.

Sweet Mary Mother of God. I keep saying it about old uneconomical cars. Bolt it to the wall as art. Again I would be the Jay Leno of $500 cars.
Ok in the spirit of the thread there's a 400 dollar biturbo, I have a 400 dollar v8 ram sinking into my backyard.
So obviously strip the maser
pull the engine and anything else useful out of the ram
scrap what's left of the ram to make some money back
jerry rig a junkyard twin turbo setup on the v8 so I can keep the biturbo badges
spend the rest on tires and health insurance
explode to death for under 2018
I reckon I could do all that without ever making it to Florida.
E: Bonus points if I figure out how to use the transfer case for full time 4wd.
Hmmmm...biturbo cabriolet has about same wheelbase as c4 corvette. I have a cut up c4 challenge car. Body transplant?
Years ago, Smokey Yunick had a column in one of the car magazines - think it was called Hey Smokey. Readers would write in with their questions and he would take a shot at answering. My favorite went like this:
Hey Smokey, I want to put a V8 in a go-cart. What problems would I run into?
His Answer?
"Mainly staying alive."

You also have a bad engine. Swap the BiTurbo into the Vette chassis.
In reply to Ovid_and_Flem :

Nobody'd be daft enough to try that.
I want to remove the complete suspension from a NA Miata and graft it under a Merkur XR4Ti that has undergone a serious diet. Motivation would come from a 10.5:1 5.7L Chevrolet. Wheels would be 15x9 7ULs with giant Hoosiers because I would have room with all the extra space left from the track differences of the two donors...
Bad ideas are my specialty as is not following through on brilliant ideas.
