Underhood, specifically looking to protect my brake cylinder from turbo heat. Leading contenders are DEI cool tape vs Thermo-tec tape. Any experiences or other products I should be looking at? Turbo already has a heat shield, but I'm paranoid and for less than $20, either product seems like cheap insurance.

cut holes in the hood and make some sort of a heat shield out of aluminum..

Any chance you could build a simple metal heat shield for the booster/MC?

The 944 turbo has one the bolts to the firewall and the inner frame rail.

You can see it in this picture:

The turbo sits just to the left of that under the throttle body and intake. They also added a heat shield to the steering shaft and along the engine block to protect the plastic air/oil separator system.
