In all seriousness, an edited version of this thread would probably make for a good magazine article.

I'm kinda sad to hear it's been sold, since that means there will be no more updates.

Doh -Woody stole it - and passed on a hell of a bargain - , I'm 100% positive I left money on the table with mine letting it go at $9500 - it had more miles, crappier paint and weak syncros.

I learned some stuff, tried to pass a little bit of knowledge and ambition on to others, made a little money and left plenty of room for the next guy to do the same. Consider it a GRM discount.

I'm not exactly sure what's next. I need a little bit of a break....and maybe a motorcycle.

If an LSx Porsche conversion project is tempting you I would seriously consider a Boxster. There have been two different 1999 Boxsters for sale with blown motors for less than $4k in the last few months around here.

I've spent every free moment of the past five weeks working on a Porsche. It's time to drive one of them. I'm going for a ride.

You succeeded. In my case, at least. I've always loved these cars, but never thought of them as DIY friendly.

I'm pretty sure Edd gets a packet of crisps and an extra hour in the outside pen when one of the cars sells.

You have definitely opened my eyes as to the ability of one of us to work on one of these, thanks.

When I finish squirreling away funds for the rest of my suspension overhaul on the 964 I promise to do likewise. Chapter 1 will be called "How to re-seal your 911's power rack or die trying". I got a seal kit for $70. Looks easy enough. What could go wrong? (I said that right before replacing the timing belt on a Jetta once so now I know...)
