Corbin is genius. Total sweetheart, too, I fed him waffles a few months ago and he showed off an old Bentley he picked up to turn into a drift car. He declared my GTX "not good." :D I think that's right up there with the "I got beat by a YUGO" button that SVRex gave me a few Challenges ago...
He's 2 years late on that idea. Larson has been hillclimbing this with us for a while. He calls it the El Jemino
In reply to dollraves:
He did a TST podcast where he talked about his plans for the Rolls dorifto. He sold the RX-7 for abour 7 grand more than it was worth because of the video. You can't hate on him for doing it either.
Looks like fun. Except the inevitable over steer off a cliff part.

there is actually even a kit for that..

My buddy Doug has been working on the El Quantimino (unsure of exact spelling).
Now getting a cage and more aero...
Doug's car started as a Quantum Syncro Station Wagon.
It has been swapped with turbo 5cyl audi goodness. IIRC something like 380hp or something.
I think Gimp has the spelling right.
I think hes close to putting it on the road.
Since when is half-assed a good thing?
I almost made it through 2 minutes of the video. After seeing the horrible welds on the roll bar and seeing the general crappiness of it all him talking was all it took for a back button. Honestly smoking tire is doing themselves a disservice propping up this stuff. You want to feature alternative cars poke around the grm readers rides and you'll find stuff deserving some attention.
Didn't like his RX-7, don't like his Jetta. It's his car, he's allowed to do whatever the hell he wants to it, but I don't understand how he can be proud of builds like this.
My random musings on his old RX...
Also, that Quantumino is berkeleying badass!
I was expecting more jet, less amino. I am disappoint.
berkeleying stupid. The wheels are such a stupid, non-functioning idea. Auto-X, yeah right.
You can make a FWD car, especially a VW oversteer on track with proper mods. I could rock killer drifts (2 and 4 wheel) in my track GTI any time. I even had four of the same wheels on it!
I could care less about hacking the roof off and using a sleeping bag for upholstery, but making it unsafe via their wheel choice is idiotic.
OK rant over
Beyond a certain level of respect I feel I should have for anyone following their own path in the automotive world...
I was in the "the RX-7 was trying too hard" crowd and this is one is just making junk on purpose. A hipster crapwagon. It's his junk, not mine so... to quote my eleven year old "whatevs".
Corbin sure looks different than his days on LA Law.
I think this guy officially qualifies as a performance artist. Cars are his medium.
In a way that E36 M3 was GG Alan's medium.
They're just berkeleying around and being creative. It's no big deal to me at all.
Seriously, if this is considered dumb, some of the stuff I did in my teens and early 20s would be absolutely retarded. This kind of stuff is just this generations way of modding to get attention. My generation did it with giant subs and crazy graphics.

Joe has better details than I do, as he's worked on the car with Doug. I just mooch space off of him for my Camaro.
This should be the motor he's talking about, when it was in the old car.
Stealing more photos from Doug's page. I should invite him over here.
Motor transplant.
The flares and rockers are all steel...
and meet up with the custom front splitter. I know part of the splitter (where it meets the flares) is from a kitty litter container.
