Makela Auto Tuning made them for the series of Ferrari 308 rally cars they restored/built, and it looks very similar to the ones on the Lancia 037 ("Lancia Rally"). It's just a gentle expanding taper, ended by a very severe taper.

Maybe? Somewhere I have phone video as I got to stand behind one at the starting line at the Goodwood rally. (I keep earplugs on my keychain.) But it's all the two-stroke pops. Very rad.
With about 200 miles behind the wheel of the car in the photo below, the sound from the driver's seat is mostly supercharger whine. Also ,while fairly loud exhaust, the car in question is a "Stradale" which must have milder cams than the competition cars, it was quite docile in traffic. Only did 2 stroke pops with extreme deceleration. Note exhaust tips as described above.

Agreed. The 037 is probably top of my dream car list. As a child of the 80's I love love love the styling. I love the idea of a powerful light RWD rally car, plus the absurdity of Group B, and the rarity, the sound, and the success that they had are icing on the cake.
