Big event on the horizon–like a MegaCon or some annual trade show? Learn from my adventure.
There I was at the Indiana Convention Center for the PRI trade show, one of the only women as far as the eye could see, and I had only three goals in mind: Find cool stories, make new connections, and load up on as …

I need to see this map. It sounds 1:1 scale.
In reply to David S. Wallens :
I swear I have it somewhere. If I find it, I will make sure to put a poncho next to it for scale.
Where is collect as many stickers and chachkis that I can grab?
I used the PRI app on my phone to avoid the poncho sized map.
Tom just loves putting new apps on his phone...

Bonus points for using some Yiddish.

Fun fact - the experienced vendors don't put their stickers out for the first 45 minutes of the SEMA show because there's a wave of people that come through and clean off the tables. I think they resell them as "sticker packs" on eBay. Even after the show is in full swing, you never leave out more than a few at a time.
Hey, I was impressed with Paris' map use at PRI. However, the app does fit nicer in your pocket.
Going to start using ponchos as my go-to unit of area measurement.

The front discs are squozen by poncho-sized calipers...

I got some pretty sick stickers and while talking to a company from Canada, I mentioned that being from Florida the weather that week in Indainaoplis was not what I was used to and my ears were getting cold inside. Then boom, they pulled out a free beanie for me! Needless to say, they were one of my top 5 companies of the week.

I mean I think its a pretty consistent unit of measurement.

First thing I'm doing when I take office: National Application Limit. Want to introduce a new app? Then you'll need to convince another one to leave the app store first.
My first SEMA took place a million years ago, and I went not really knowing anyone.
But I did go in with a meeting lined up: Bill Cardell at The Dealer Alternative–the company now known as Flyin’ Miata.

At Hyperfest I saw a bunch of groups using the policy that you had to like & follow their facebook/instagram pages before recieving stickers. Some were checking in real time and quizing folks on their handle/user name.
From way too many years of attending the PRI shows, both as an exhibitor and as an attendee in lets see; Cincinnati, Columbus, Indianapolis, Orlando, back to Indianapolis, (as well as the SEMA show in Lost Wages), if you are not directly downtown and can use the elevated and heated walk ways;
1) Use the coat check
2) Use a ride share services (or the mono rail at SEMA) to avoid parking and long walks to and from the convention centers.
3) Now a day use the app on your phone to locate the vendor's booth in question. Make a list and sweep the show floor in one logical motion, not here and there and everywhere - or you will waste too much time fitting the crowds.
4) Check out all the cool new parts that interest you, but try hard not to take up too much of the vendor's time talking about your specific personal car and what you need/want.
These shows are the ultimate in terms of "kid in the candy store" syndrome!
PS: Wear comfortable shoes!!!
Was anybody else expecting pontiac related info here?

1.) most definitely. Especially if you buy a case of energy drinks. 😂
2.) choose your entrance wisely. We used the lot adjacent to the stadium entrance. Easy peasy parking, entrance and coat check.
3.) I used the app but small screen, big floor plan.... I cruised past certain booths to revisit later because of how many people were in the booth.
4.) I did that to a degree. I'd also say to make use of the available seminars! Great way to sit down for a hour with some free food and drink possibly. I say for both of Haltech's seminars and it has swayed my opinion on what to use for an ecu. I just wish I could have went to a couple others but they conflicted time wise. I used my booth time to discuss website vs reality problems.
