For Daily Driving/ Child porting duties. Specifically the convertible since I think that'd be about 10x easier for loading/unloading kids, and I've always wanted a droptop.

My lease on a Nissan LEAF is up in about a year, and by that time, one of the kids should be in a booster and may be able to buckle herself in, and the other will be in a front-facing child seat. I do daycare dropoff and pickup three days a week, and have sole charge of the kids most weekends as well. That seems doable in a convertible, less so but not impossible in a coupe. Anybody here raised two young kids in a Mustang?

Other cars I'm considering so far: new VW GTI, 2016 Chevy Volt/Bolt

(I will keep the Volvo Wagon for longer trips and larger loads)

Take the kids and car seat to the dealer and do a test fit.

Yeah I'll do that when the time comes. Just asking around so I can save some energy if others have tried and failed before me.

I am tall so there is no room behind my seat in any of the Mustangs I have owned. 2 car seats would have been impossible. I did have one child with a Fox Body and there wasn't any problems at all. In fact we had 2, a hatch back and a notch back. The hatch back could fit a huge amount of stuff. I really miss those. I have no idea what the current ones are like. SN95s are the newest I can afford.

I bought an S197 last summer in hopes of it becoming my DD. I had one child at the time and a rear facing seat meant whoever was sitting in the front was up against the dash. I'm not sure about the newer ones; but, the question I have is where can you even find a V6? Every Ford dealer I've scoured only has ecoboost and GTs.
